Mikhail Bulgakov Museum with its Fifth Dimension of the Odd Flat Project became the winner of the VII grant contest “Changing Museum in a Changing World” in the Socially Oriented Museum Programs nomination. This museum contest is held by Vladimir Potanin Foundation annually since 2003.
Museum intends to present its audience with an absolutely new image of a literary museum – vivid, animated, interactive and, first and foremost, open to everyone including the visually challenged visitors, people with weak eyesight.
One of the most innovative contemporary sound systems is now installed at the museum. This will fill the whole space with musical compositions created by contemporary sound artists and composers especially for “The Odd Flat”. Thus, the museum will become accessible for those people for whom hearing and sense of touch are the only ways of information perception.
Besides special sound excursions-trips, a series of concerts, seminars and readings will be held within the bounds of the Project.

В 2010 году проект музея Булгакова «Пятое измерение «нехорошей квартиры» стал победителем VII грантового конкурса музейных проектов «Меняющийся музей в меняющемся мире», который проводит Благотворительный фонд В. Потанина.
В рамках проекта музей представляет посетителям совершенно новый образ литературного музея – динамичного, живого, а главное – открытого для слабовидящих и незрячих людей. Благодаря полученной грантовой поддержке музей оборудован инновационной аудиосистемой, позволяющей наполнять экспозицию специально создаваемыми произведениями современных композиторов.
Звуки, голоса, музыка, шумы, без которых немыслимо ни одно из произведений Булгакова, становятся «пятым измерением» музея.
